Launching Virgin Australia's Spin Class in the Sky

Challenge

To create a piece of engaging, shareable video content that cuts through the clutter of April Fools’ Day. This was also the fourth year in a row Virgin Australia had created an April Fool’s video and they had become synonymous with creating content for the occasion.

Culture

Following the success of Virgin’s last three April Fools’ Day campaigns, this year we leveraged Australians’ love of fitness and the fact that fitness on transportation had been a hot topic. This insight led Pulse and Virgin Australia introducing the world’s first Spin Class to Australia in 2018.

Creativity

Pulse produced a piece of comical digital content; a video introducing the World’s first in-flight cycling class, giving all guests the opportunity to exercise during long haul international flights. The video was filmed at Virgin Australia’s Training Centre, as well as a Virgin Active gym, and was created to engage fans, and drive shareability. The video was released on Facebook on the 1st April accompanied announcing the revolutionary new cabin class that would feature Virgin Active bikes and include three different spin classes designed specifically for cycling in the air.
